THE BAD WAVE:

Suddenly, the OMS says that no longer will promote the Precaution Principle with respect to CEM/ Movable Telephony . An action on great scale begins in which the participation of the citizens is essential.

The World-wide Health Organization (OMS) sent in 1996 a project to evaluate her sanitary and environmental effects, was the International Project of the EMF, although she has eluded to show the results until the present.

The very same OMS director, Michael Repacholi, found in 1997, a study of the Adelaida Hospital, Australia, “ lymphomas in transgenic mice exposed to 900 EMF of MHz ”, remembers in his Web the student Francisco Gabiola. This one affirms that from 1954 “ have been issued 20,000 reports that assure the damages for the health of microwaves”.

According to the data of the technical service of information of “Microwave News”, the World-wide Health Organization suddenly wants no longer to apply the Precaution Principle for the electromagnetic fields. Microwave News” speaks about this in its editing informs “, doing reference to an interview with Michael Repacholi Dr. from OMS. Repacholi is at the same time member of the private association ICNIRP, which established the maximum values for the electromagnetic fields of loss and discharge frequency, that so was discussed, and that they were reflected in the EU Recommendation from July of 1999 (adopted by most of the European countries)… These values are applicable to the movable transmissions telephony, radio stations and television, as well as high voltage cable, electrical devices, etc.

The Repacholi declarations are contradicted with a rough draft of the OMS that was presented and decided in the Luxembourg journeys for the Application of the Precaution Principle in electromagnetic fields unanimously (February 2003). In this rough draft one says that the OMS will use the Precaution Principle. But the question no longer is if it is going to use, but how it is going to do. In addition, in January of 2003 the OMS official representative had announced that would be made studies epidemiologists on residents near stations base of movable telephony.

By the sight, this has not been to liking of some Lobby groups, because the sudden reverse gear of the OMS is not can be justified of another way. It is evident that they have something to hide, because it seems unjustifiable for us and it does not deserve the minimum confidence, than Mr. Repacholi says now suddenly that the OMS rough draft presented in the Luxembourg Conference about the Precaution Principle, was a “opinion poll ” with which it was tried to see what reactions took place; and that they did not have predicted to use the Precaution Principle for electromagnetic fields (movable transmissions of movable telephony, telephones, etc.). In summary: OMS does not want to take part so far. It means that they are not going away to carry out the epidemiologists studies that are so important and also, that maximum values of precaution will not settle down either. This sudden change not only snubs the participants of the Luxemburg Conference, but that makes suspect that there has been interference from industrial groups with interests.

If the OMS does not apply the Precaution Principle, it does not recommend lower values of reference, nor makes studies epidemiologists in the stations base residents of movable telephony (at the moment is known more than 60 cases of cancer accumulation “clusters” in the neighborhoods of stations base of movable telephony), she herself is invested in an absurd position: The exchanges will not become until an high amount of people near stations of movable telephony dies and the victims numbers are so elevated that to anybody doubt about the existing connection. The cancer can be due to many causes and often its latency period is of many years. But in the proximities of movable antennas of telephony or they have taken place more than 60 accumulations of cancer cases or “clusters”, has arrived the time to act. The OMS has the urgent obligation to investigate this accumulation of cancer cases , considering all the possible causes! In addition it is necessary to find out the radiations values and their duration: during the night, at work, house and on the free time, fixing also the maximum values and the values average that has taken place. Also it is necessary to consider other possible causes, to confirm them or to discard them. Because this way it is only possible to be reached valid conclusions.

In Spain, a very active group, the Geobiologies Studies Association (GEA), registers all the investigations about this subject. And GEA affirms: “Laboratory investigations and independent epidemiologists studies indicate, a clear relation between the exposure to electromagnetic radiations and different disorders: stress, headache, insomnia, irritability, depression, fatigue, leukemia, lymphoma or cancer”. The GEA has presented official allegations to the Real Spanish Decree.

The New York magazine Microwave News keeps awake in a study that: “some people contracted by the tobacco growers have also worked to protect the interests of the sector of the movable telephony”. The report of Elisa Ong and Stanton Glantz was published in the number of November of 2001 of American Journal of Public Health. The industry of the good tobacco promoted the concept practical epidemiologists (GEP): “which it fixes standards for the scientific proofs, which prevent to show that the smoke of the tobacco is harmful”.

The authors relate, among others, this case: 'In the middle of the 1990 decade, James Tozzi, contracted by Philip Morris (in 1994, he received from tobacconist 677,000 euros), he animated to the GEP use not only for the tobacco smoke, but for the electromagnetic fields. In 1993, the Cellular Telecomunications & Internet Association contracted George Car to manage an investigation, of 25 million dollars, on movable telephony and health. Carlo, consulting employee by the tobacco industry, called to Tozzi and both designed the notebook of Wireless Technology Research (WTR). Ong and Glantz give notice: “The movement pro GEP, besides to look for the quality of the scientific speech, makes complex campaigns of public relations, taken by executives and lawyers, OMS manipulate the scientific standards to protect the corporative interests of their clients”.
